The funny thing...

I so often close my eyes at night & start to pray, only to find that I'm not saying a word. Sometimes I would be uneasy with this -- why am I not saying anything? I even acknowledge that I don't know exactly what to say. A friend reminded me that prayer is a conversation. How can I hear what God has to say if I'm the one doing all the talking?? This song says it perfectly:

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay
The last thing I need is to be heard
But to hear what You would say

Word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

I'm finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
All that I need is to be with You
And in the quiet hear Your voice

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay

So glad you found these words. Listening is often the hard part. We have our own ideas about how God should do this or that. We need to listen way more often than we do. You're learning that. With all that is going on in your life right now, remember what God told me through someone else when Granddad Fred was so sick: (I'll insert your name here)

God said, "Ashley, I'm God. You can't handle all that I understand. Just trust in Me and that I do have a wonderful plan for your life."

I love you,
Dad
